Hello. I recently upgraded to Trados Studio 2019 Freelance, but it keeps freezing when I try to type or dictate in any given segment when translating. I have decided to switch to another CAT tool temporarily because I cannot make any progress using Trados Studio.

I was reading this thread since I had the same problem. In my case, removing the MS Word Grammar Checker app seems to have solved it.
Hello, I tried to uninstall, reinstall. It worked for a day or two but it started to freeze again in the Project View, and to create problems with xliff files (...).
In the end I uninstalled SR2 and reinstalled SR1 and it's working great since.
MS Word Grammar Checker has been a frequent cause of freezes in several earlier versions of Studio. It is a bug causing huge problem, which however can be fixed easily this way:
1. Close Trados Studio and MS Word (any versions)
2. Locate MS Word normal.dot(m) template here: C:\Users\user name\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Templates.
3. Change its name to normal.bak
4. Restart Word, then close it.
5. Restart Trados Studio and most probably MS Grammar Checker will not be an issue, so that Studio will not freeze after Confirming an translation entry. (In case only MS Grammar Checker caused the problem.)
