In order for the updates to go through successfully please make sure you have full administrative rights on your PC and also that its operating system is updated as well. Moreover I would also suggest to check that your antivirus or any other cleaning tool is not blocking these updates.

The cumulative updates are enhancements and fixes that improve product's functionalities and also solve minor issues at the same time.

These updates are installed automatically with the AutoUpdate option being checked in Studio.
