I have just purchased a SDL Trados 2019 license. As soon as I installed it, a message popped up saying that an update is available. Is it free of charge? Should I download it? I hope this is the right forum to ask this question, as I am new to this community. Thanks in advance.

Yes ;-)
The update is a cumulative update and these are normally fixes and improvements that are released between the major releases.
