Odd behavior of 2017 licence

I have upgraded from SDL Trados Studio 2017 Freelance Plus to SDL Trados Studio 2019 Freelance Plus. I have used both these programe on my 2 computers (desktop and laptop). Recently, I have found that I cannot use the 2017 version on my desktop (the licence expired!!??). I can still use 2017 version along with 2019 version on my laptop. And, I cannot reinstallthe 2017 version on my desktop because its licence DISAPPEARED FROM MY ACCOUNT. wHAT IS THE REASON FOR THAT! I have a very old laptop, where I had originally installed the 2011 version. It is still there and can be used and my account includes the licence. Could anybody help me.

  • Hello Ivan ,

In order to use 2017 Freelance on your desktop  , you must  install on the same pc also the 2019 Freelance. Only in this way the activation code  will work. As it is mentioned in the article I sent you , you need to have on the same pc installed both version 2017 and 2019 , and in this way you can use the  same activation code that you find under your SDL account -products and plans -licenses- SDL Trados Studio 2019 Freelance Plus (the activation code from  your 2019 Freelance Plus).

To sum up , the activation code from your 2019 freelance plus is the same as for 2017 freelance plus, but you need to have 2019 installed on your desktop , otherwise it will not work.

Hope it make sense my explanation !
