Plugin installer won't run.

Hi

The plugin installer won't run for the Studio Subtitling plugin. In the Plugin Management, no plugins are listed and there is the message "There are installed plugins requiring administrator rights". I'm running Studio 2019 on Windows 10.

How can I get plugins to install? The same happens with other plugins e.g. the SRT plugin.

I've tried adding the sdl plugin file to the Studio 15 Packages folder. I've also tried reinstalling Studio 19 being sure to run the installer with administrator rights. I am the only person to use my computer, and my account has administrator rights.

  • Hello ,

Have you checked the plugin folder?

You should find this as follows -

    C:\Users\swhale\your name\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15\Plugins\Packages

Screenshot showing the Downloads folder with two files: 'SDLTradosStudio.msi' and 'SDLTradosPackage.exe', both dated 10212021.

If yo cannot find this folder- ensure hidden folder is visible

Screenshot of a file being dragged from the Downloads folder to the SDL Trados Studio Plugins Packages folder, with a green arrow indicating the action.

You can also go to your downloads folder and copy the plug into the relevant folder- then you should be able to double click and install the plugin.

Dont forget to close Studio before installing the plugin and then restart after installing.
