making a new Studio version the default version

Dear all,

I can't find a way to solve this:

last year, I bought and installed Studio 2019. I ended up not using it as SDL, a client of mine, was still using the 2017 version. I got a year long license on the 2017, installed and used that. When I receive eg a Groupshare link and click it, Studio 2017 automatically opens.

Now that the license expired, I want to tell Studio 2019 to be the default and automatically open the links. Right now, I am opening links by going through the "open Groupshare project" in 2019.

I probably could just deinstall 2017, but I'd rather keep it and find another way to solve this.

Is there a way to prep the settings of Studio 2019 to do this?

Thank you.

Nicola

  • Hi Paul,

I would love to do that but can't find out how. I read through an solution article on how to run repairs. My computer sepaks German, but I think I've found the right windows.

Solution 1 was to go via the control panel - I only have the option to deinstall Studio, not to run repairs.

Solution 2 was to fidn a folder under the "user" setting on drive "c". But I don't have anything called "AppData" (or even just something similar starting with "App", in case it's not called "AppData" in German.

Solution 3 only works in addition to solution 2, so no luck there

Solution 4 is not explained (an app called "fresh start"), so I didn't touch that.

It seems I will have to deinstall Studio 2017 to get Studio 2019 to do all the work I want it to do, could that be?

    Thank you.

    Nicola
