SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 update (to build 15.2.5.2145) deletes previous version but does not install the newer one

Question

It seems that this update process when activated from within Studio (i.e. heeding the orange notification and then downloading and installing) goes through the motions and then will ask you to restart your PC. However, two things happen: 1) old Studio gets deleted, and 2) newer Studio is not actually installed/updated and you get nothing, the icons disappear, etc. So what one is supposed to do is, once one knows, an update is available via notification? Get out of Studio, get the .zip or .exe update file somewhere else and follow the instructions. In other words, download the update .zip or .exe file manually.

 This is a bug in the update process, I believe.

Hello , 
 This is the first time i have seen this reported (apart from your own previous linked to thread). 
 My first suspect here would be your browser settings/Firewall and or AntiVirus software is preventing the install. 
 If you are using FireFox- please move the download into a new folder (under Documents maybe) and then try to install. 
 I would also disable the AntiVirus program during the installation and then add Studio to your AV whitelist.

I think I figured it out. Once you restart your PC, the update program is supposed to continue with the installation but it is programmed to do it from within the Windows Administrator account/profile. Now, since I never, and nobody should, run my PC on an Administrator profile for day-to-day tasks, I seldom open that profile (except after a Windows update). So, what happens is that if I decide to open that profile, bingo, the SDL update program is (still) there ready to continue with the installation. Summarizing, the update works automatically apparently only if I use the Administrator account/profile (whose password I use to install new software or software updates).
