Languages

Question

Hi, 
 
 I have spoken with SDL people at conferences before about the ridiculous limit to 5 languages. If other CATs offer the choice to have multiple languages, Studio for sure would be able to include this. 
 
 It is really annoying having to choose 5 languages or else. 
 
 I think many people would appreciate having more choices. 
 
 I translate from Italian, but sometimes I receive projects using Italian Switzerland &ndash; and I can't open the package! 
 
 Probably something you guys should consider to improve the so-called "user experience".

 Experience has shown that five languages are more than sufficient for the majority of freelance translators. 
 Of course, there are always exceptions to this, and we will always try to work with you to find a resolution. 
 If you use two machines and own a freelance PLUS license, you can install Studio on two machines and have 5 languages on one machine and 5 on a different machine. 
 Should you be translating more than five languages on a regular basis (one machine) you may wish to consider upgrading to a Professional version, which doesnt have any restrictions. 
 Also, If you are confident in changing the registry, you might like this previous thread-

 Of course, you must be careful when changing the registry as mistakes can have serious consequences. 
 The last option (also in the above thread) is to log an installation ticket.
