I suggest you log a case and the support team will resolve this for you.
For licensing or installation issues that prevent you from working we have a route for all customers to get help. This can be achieved really quickly using this link:

You have two options:
1. Submit a case using a webform
2. Use live chat to get a licence reset
You want to use the first option and make sure that you refer to this thread so the teams can see what you have tried already.

Thank you Paul. I have uninstalled Trados and I get the same message when I try to install the R2 release again. I have even downloaded a gadget from the Microsoft windows 10 support page for install/uninstall issues to no avail.
I will follow your advice. I am feeling increasingly frustrated for something that should be rather smooth. It must be my past user experience as an Apple and MacOS user.

The reason you have this is because you dd not uninstall the product correctly and you left something in there. This isn't your fault at all, it's most likely that we have too many programs to choose from and unless you read some instructions first it's easy to choose the wrong one and then get stuck.
The support team will be able to fix this for you.
