After update to SR2 15.2.7.2849 (SDL Trados Studio 2019), it keeps CRASHING all the time.

After update to SR2 15.2.7.2849 (SDL Trados Studio 2019), it keeps CRASHING all the time.

How do I return to the previous and stable version until you fix this please?

  • Hi Adrian.. Screenshot: Allow me to ask how can I screenshot something that simply crashes and turns off after it has vanished because it crashed? I have to start it all over again. (BTW, after this upgrade, even when starting as administrator, the message Failed to create temporary folder: C:Users\xxx\AppData\Local\Temp\_ir_tu2_temp_6  pops up). Anyway, I start all over again by opening the project file itself, the AutoRecover (I thank for its existence) takes me to 5 or six segments before the crash. I then continue the assignment. Before the update, 3 projects ago, (same assignment) I was stupid enough to start from a pdf original, full of drawings and charts. Of course, it became a mess (an image was chaged from line bla, bla, bla). I then exported the pdf file to a simple txt file, with no format at all. That is the file I am trying to conclude. BTW, 4 days after deadline. You cam imagine how the client is feeling... I don´t feel comfortable to uninstall  and reinstall it, nor do I have the time. Aside from your suggestions, what else can be done? I have already bought 2021. I hope this bug is fixed by then....

    It's probably not the sort of bug you can attribute to one identifiable thing to fix. The only way to resolve this is to follow the instructions to reset Studio.  It's not difficult.  

    Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15.0.0.0

    So the path would become this:

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15.0.0.0_old

    If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:

    Then restart.  If this doesn't help then log a case and a support engineer will help you.

    You have two options:

    1. Submit a case using a webform
    2. Use live chat to get a licence reset

    You want to use the first option and make sure that you refer to this thread so the teams can see what you have tried already.

  • I have followed "old" instructions. I have updated MultiTerm.

    All is working fine after an hour.
