If you are only uninstalling and reinstalling then your product remains licenced.  So need to worry about that.  But in the worst case scenario where the reinstall works and you did lose your licence then you can always reset it yourself:

Use this KB article ( gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge ) and follow the instructions.

Normally these sort of problems relate to not keeping Studio and MultiTerm upto date.  It's important that the versions are matching.  You should have these:

SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 - 15.2.7.2849
SDL MultiTerm 2019 - 15.0.6.56482

Sorry if you did not get my response. I did try to reply, but I do not find anything related to SDL to be particularly user-friendly. I must have clicked the wrong button. [You must forgive me, I am a baby-boomer, and I know just enough about computers to get myself into trouble :-)]. In answer to your question, No, your suggestion did not resolve the problem, although I did appreciate the input. Thank you.

ok... so if none of this helped please try a reset.  It's often more effective than a reinstall anyway.  

Rename this folder (just add _old to the end or something, it's not important what you rename it to) and restart Studio:

c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15.0.0.0

So the path would become this:

c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\15.0.0.0_old

If you can't find this folder then you need to unhide your hidden files/folders:

www.howtogeek.com/.../

Now, can I bother you again about MultiTerm?

• I can open MultiTerm.
• The terms already on file are recognized when I use Trados Studio.
• The problem is that I cannot open the data bases to add, modify or delete a term.

I get the message: "A connection to SDL MultiTerm server could not be established. Please check your connection settings.

Before you ask,

• Yes, I did check for updates: No, there are no new updates available.
• My system is on line and Internet is working.
• I have data bases on my hard disk AND on OneDrive. I do NOT use both at the same time, but I did try both, separately, without success.

You didn't confirm that you have these versions when I asked earlier so let's get that out the way first:

So that's probably your problem then.  You need to update Studio.  If you can't see the available updates then do this.

1. Close SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2.
2. Download the ZIP file SDLTradosStudio2019_SR2_CU7_2849.zip from our FTP site (Username: sdlpatches, password: 5dlpatch35).
3. The ZIP file contains an .exe file. Extract this file to a temporary folder of your choice, such as C:\temp. This .exe file applies to all editions of SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2.
4. Double-click the .exe file. This will install the latest release and replace as well as update the files in the SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 installation folder as appropriate.

Thank you for the information. Both Studio and MultiTerm are now up to date. The MultiTerm problem still exists.
