Studio 2019 does not start

Hi, I installed SR2 for Studio 19 and can no longer open Studio, I get this message "'Sdl.TranslationStudio.AlignmentEditor.IAlignmentEditorService' could not be started" I cannot even return my license to reinstall Studio 2029. Please help. Repairing the software is not an option that is offered.  Please help. Thanks. -- Diane

  • Hi Paul, My problem is solved! Unfortunately, I do not know exactly what SDL Support exactly did. One of the technicians suggested I did this: 


    1.Make sure Studio (including the error message) is closed
    2.Navigate to C:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL Trados Studio and rename the Studio15 folder ( to Studio15_old for example)
    3.Go to Control Panel\Programs\Programs and Features and double click on the SDL Trados Studio 2019 SR2 and choose Repair
    4.Wait for the repair to complete, start Studio and check if the issue still occurs

    That did not work for me. SDL then accessed my computer remotely and did pretty much the same, I thought, and the problem was solved. He worked very quickly, so it was hard to keep track of what exactly he did, but I am very grateful SDL Studio is up and running again.
