I bought SDL Trados Freelance 2021 about a month ago but also just bought a new laptop computer. I was wondering if I could just uninstall the software from my old computer and reinstall it on my new computer or is there a more complex process to complete?

Yes, you can do that but before removing the software from the old computer please open Studio and go to Help\Product Activation and click on "Deactivate"
You will need to perform this step in order to have your license deactivated from the old computer so it is available to activate once installing the software on the new one.
