It blocks at the Memories loading stage and I get the following message: Impossible to identify the data file requested (it's in Italian but roughly translates as this). I wonder whether it could be updating issues as service updates have repeatedly failed.

Just locate the TranslationMemoryRepository.xml and rename it, then restart Studio. This will remove all the TMs from the list in Studio, but it will not delete them from your computer. So you can add them back again if you like them there.
