We have a problem:
After the last Trados update (Trados updated on Tuesday December 8) this error "translation provider threw exception" often happens when, at the end of a project, you try to update the TM.
Obviously TM does not update.
Can you help us to solve it?

This is likely if the TM's hadn't been upgraded for optimal performance prior to installing SR1.
The solution is upgrade your translation memories.
Same for me.
Two projects since I upgraded to SR1, and twice the issue when Updating Main Memories.

Unfortunately, this method does not work
I understood that probably the problem of the TMs do not update with the method reported is because our TMs are not saved on our PCs but in a separate storage (a local server).
In fact, if I copy the TMs to my PCs the TMs update correctly.
Now we need a solution to update the TMs directly in the separate storage, because the operation of: copying on the local PC > update the TM > paste the updated TM on the separate storage, is too long and takes too much time.
We have hundreds of TMs to update not just one TM.
Do you have any solutions?
I have the same problem! The TMs were "upgraded" (whatever that means", but to no avail. My TMs are lodged in my pc as I work on a stand-alone basis. Any suggestions? This is quite a serious issue.
Same problem here! I've just updated latest update SDL Trados Studio 2021 SR1 - 16.1.6.4276 ..and I cannot work because this "translation provider threw exception" keeps on popping up everytime I jump from one segment onto another. It's annoying and won't let your work flow as it should. OMG. How can I get rid of this??? I've tried updating TMs but the problem persists. PLEASE. I need help.

Since you updated your Studio version, your plugin became outdated.
Please remove it and install it again, updated from the AppStore integrated option from within Studio.

Thank you, Oana. But I go to SDL AppStore, I hit "Installed plugins (0)" and the list is empty. No plugin to uninstall

You can do that if you go to the following paths in your File Explorer:
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Package
C:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\Unpacked

I have the same problem with Studio 2019 SR2-15.2.8.3007. No problem with client packages but when I create my own project with my own TMs I get "translation provider threw exception" popping up for every segment and I get no Autosuggest suggestions from Language Cloud. I've updated my TMs as described but this has not helped. Have also looked for plugins as described above by Oana but there are none. Any suggestions gratefully received!
