fails to start the Studio, error message "Failed to initialize view ’SimpleStartView’"

Question

Hi all 
 During the upgrade, The Studio (2021) rolled back the installation (Error no 1603) and removed my previous program. I tried the solution in this post https://community.sdl.com/product-groups/translationproductivity/f/studio/32709/studio-2021-sr1-installation-error . 
 It seems ok with installation but now gives me an error "Failed to initialize view &rsquo;SimpleStartView&rsquo;" when I tries to start the Studio. 
 I have repaired Studio following the instruction here https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0039395 
 and reset Studio following https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0033669 
 
 Appreciate if someone can help.

 Thank you very much. I found a solution online but it is written in Korean and for Studio 2019.

 So in my case, I deleted C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\SDL Trados Studio 2020 Apps 
 Now everything is fine. 
 Hope this can be helpful to someone with the same issue.

 So you 100% followed these steps? 
 
 Go to C:\ProgramData\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel RMS Development Kit and rename the System folder. So for example, change this: c:\ProgramData\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel RMS Development Kit\System to this: c:\ProgramData\SafeNet Sentinel\Sentinel RMS Development Kit\System_old 
 Open a command line as administrator. To do this type CMD into the run field in Windows and select "Run as administrator" like this: 
 Type the following commands into the command line cd C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\SDLTradosStudio2021SR1 Press the enter key lsinit.exe &ndash;debug Press the enter key Should look like this before the final press of the enter key 
 Allow the process to continue when prompted and you'll see something like this: Press the enter key again, and close the command prompt 
 Finally run the Studio installer again.

Thanks, Christen. Good tip. This worked for me too. Simply rename or delete C:\ProgramData\microsoft\windows\start menu\programs\SDL Trados Studio 20xx Apps . Besides, in the error message, there may be a hint of the installed plug-in path (or linked application item added by "MenuMaker for SDL Trados Studio", see AppStore). By the way, you can skip altogether this "MenuMaker" tool by adding manually whatever Windows shortcut into the folder mentioned above. Even more amazing, if you have SDL Trados Studio 2021 installed (I guess also Studio 2017, 2015, etc.) and want to add shortcuts to your favorite Windows applications to the Welcome screen (Welcome pane, on the left side) create manually this directory (you will need Administrator rights): C :\ProgramData\microsoft\windows\start menu\programs\SDL Trados Studio 2021 Apps and then copy there your favorite Windows shortcuts.
