Licensing problems with academic trial licenses

Dear all,

We have a weird problem. We are a college training translators, and SDL gives us trial licenses for our students who can use them until the end of the academic year. This has worked without any problems until now.

Now, we've purchased a number of Lenovo notebooks, which students can borrow if they don't own an adequate machine. When students with such loan computers try to activate the trial license we issue them, Studio always claims that there are no licenses for that activation code. Believe me, we've checked before in our license overview that these licenses were not activated. After the student tried to activate a licence without success, this license is marked as activated in the license overview, although Studio had claimed that there were no licenses. Consequently, the student is unable to deactivate the licence (as their Studio is not activated).

We've never had this problem before and so far have only experienced it with these new Lenovo computers.

Does this make any sense? Does anyone have any idea what's happening there?

Any help is much appreciated.

Norbert
