problem in installation

I have changed my PC and reinstalled Trados. However, once I restart the application my ongoing projects are not listed, my client's list is miss and I have to pick up every project, one by one as I reopen the program.

I have reinstalled 3 times after a clean up of my system, but the problem is always there.

My Windows version is: Windows 10 family - version 10.0.19041 number 19041

Trados version: SDLTradosStudio2019_SR2_15.2.7.2849.exe

Can you tell how to resolve this problem? I can't work properly.

Thank you.

  • Hello

If you have changed your PC, then you will need to recreate the projects as these are not stored within Studio, but in your local projects folder/cloud location.

  • Thank you Steve, may be I didn't explain well. I mean that I create new projects, I work on it, then I quit the application. I restart the application and those projects (nor the old ones in my previous PC) are NOT  listed on the main page. : they are not in the ongoing projects, nor in the old/closed. Anyway, when you pick up an old project from your PC et work again on it, so it is an active project, Trados should show it on the main page when your restart your day work to morrow!!!! And it is not the case, meaning that  I do not have any "vision" of my  work and have to creare a list of follow-up beyond Trados. Same happens when I create a new project and add a customer in the list, w/ his email adress. I work on my project, I quit, I reopen Trados, and... no more projects nor clients in the menu customer/client (second page when you create a project).  All this is very very painful, I can't manage my work correctly!

All this seems to me that the program has a bug (where?) in the installation .exe, or a conflict with Windows...

I shoube very grateful of any help.

  • Hello ,

I am pretty sure this isn't a bug in Studio, as many others would be reporting the same issue otherwise.

Please check the Projects filter is showing all projects-

Trados Studio screenshot showing the Projects filter settings with 'Show all projects' selected.

None of your projects are actually 'saved' in Studio itself but in your Projects folder- for example

Screenshot of a file explorer window with Trados Studio project folders visible, indicating the location of saved projects.

When you navigate to the folder- are you then able to see them?

Perhaps you could share a couple of screen shots.

This may help identify where the issue is.
