I have purchased the update to 2021 but am unable to download it with all the options suggested. Do I need to pay for service for a simple installation or is there somewhere I can get an answer why it isn't working and how to fix it?

Do you mean that the download link isn't working? If so, the solution is to use a different internet browser. For example, if you tried downloading it in Google Chrome then try again using Microsoft Edge or Internet Explorer, or indeed Firefox...
