Noine of your projects are actually stored in Studio.

These are all stored in your projects folders- for e.g

If they are old completed projects, you don't need to reload these into Studio at all.

As you mention you will be installing Studio onto a new machine and if want to retain the old projects, you will need to copy these over onto the new machine.

I finally found this question that sort of fits the bill - I transferred my license to my new laptop 2 weeks ago. Now I've gotten a project from an existing client and the analyze file did not give me any percentage matches or perfect matches even though the file is similar to many I've done. My TM is empty!!! What happened? I cannot bill the client for the full word count as it's loads of duplications to former projects. What do I do? None of my old projects are showing up (I realize you've said above that I don't need to store all my old projects in Trados but now they're all gone and my TM too). This is urgent or I'll lose the job - can you help me?
