I have (rightly or wrongly) reset the licence, but I realise now that what I actually need is for someone at SDL to deactivate it for me so that I can reinstall Studio on my new computer.

You can reset your own license by using the Self Service option in your MySDL account for SDL Trados 2015.
Use this KB article ( gateway.sdl.com/.../communityknowledge ) and follow the instructions.

Like I said, I have already reset the licence. But how do I reinstall Studio? Is it the latest item listed in Downloads as Trados Studio 2015 Freelance Plus SR-3? Thanks!
Is it the latest item listed in Downloads as Trados Studio 2015 Freelance Plus SR-3?
Download and install that one. If there is an update you'll find it through the automatic updates.
