Something odd has happened when I switched from my Dell laptop to an HP laptop: the ribbon and some other details of the interface, including icons, are too small, and by too small I intende almost invisible. How cold I solve this?

This sounds as though the HP has a high defintion screen.
You can try resolving this by changing the screen resolution and or using the following free Change Scaling Behaviour app-
