I'm unable to deactivate desktop online or offline. Where do I find the installation ID? Is it the same thing as the Activation Code under the Perpetual License tab in the client software? Since I bought this software, it's been totally unintuitive with this. This should be super easy...
Based on this response perhaps you can also explain how you are trying to create a package? Have you already created your project? All you should have to do is select the project and then click on "Create Project Package":

It is easy:
Go to the Help menu:
Click on "Product Activation" and click "Deactivate":

The Deactivate button starts the process and returns an error message:
Wanted to log a ticket in Support, but this is the only thing that is showing on that screen:
I've spent a LOT of time on this - uninstalled and reinstalled the entire pack of software. Not working and phone support is MIA.
As for the project packages. I don't have the option activated. It's grayed out because I still have the Freelance version activated and you can only create packages with the Pro edition. It's the Pro edition that I am totally unable to activate and get started with.
Can someone PLEASE call me and help me with this? Even this exchange is taking hours because of time difference. I'm two days behind schedule with this project now.
I figured it out. Deleted the license file from software directory in Program Files. Was then able to activate the software with new license key.

Still can't create packages - following the direction above. Project is highlighted but "Create Package" is grayed out.....
The first problem is you created a cloud project:
The second problem is that you most likely have "Trados Live Essential" which is the free account provided to all Studio users. If you create a cloud project with this version then it looks as though you cannot create a package from Studio even with the pro version. I just tested this scenario and have the same problem as you. I've asked the question around whether this is an oversight or by design, but for now the solution for you will be this:

OK, that's very helpful. Thank you!
ok - it seems that none of the Cloud versions will let you create a cloud project in Studio and then create a Studio package from Studio. However, of the two Essential packages the Professional version will let you download a package from the Language Cloud account. The package is free for now, but should be 175 euros/yr after the first year:
https://www.sdltrados.com/products/trados-live/essential/
So in Trados Live you should be able to do this if you have the Pro package:
If you check, and you only see this:
Then let me know and we can correct this because I think you should have this version for 12-months included with a Professional Studio licence.
