I have checked your account and it appears you have deactivated Starter and activated Freelance today-

When you start Studio and go to HELP- About Studio - what version does it say you have?

Can you please post a screen shot?

What makes you believe that you still have the Starter version active?

Are there certain functionalities that are still greyed out/unavailable after upgrading?

As you can see, I can't create any project, and I was not asked to enter my license anywhere

Please try the following:

1.Make sure Studio is closed

2.Navigate to C:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16\Data and delete the Studio.lic file there

Note:If you can't find the path open Windows File Explorer, go to View and check the Hidden items checkbox

3.Open Studio and activate it using your Freelance license ( you should get prompted to do this)

The Freelance license should be activated after taking these steps and the relevant options should no longer be greyed out in your installation of Studio.

thanks for you answer but in Studio 16 I can't find Data and the file. Same with Window File Explorer.

Pls have a look at the screenshot of  what appears when opening Studio16

Then I only have a list of .dll files.

Could you help pls ?

It's  C:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16\Data not ProgramFiles(x86).

Again, if the path is hidden on your computer go to View ( Affichage in your case) and check the Hidden items checkbx.

That will reveal the hidden folders you need to browse to.

Additionally you can simply paste the path ( C:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\Studio16\Data ) into Windows explorer and it will take you to the file.

Dear Bogdan,

many thanks to you, I managed to delete the .lic file, then I opened Trados again and I was asked to enter my license code. Evrything seems to be ok now.
