Are you trying to open them in Studio or open them as standalone files? Can you provide a screenshot with the error message?

I try to open them in Studio.

The message in German is as follows: Für die Verarbeitung von XLS-Dateien muss Microsoft Office 2003 oder höher installiert sein.

Office 365 is installed on my laptop, so I don't know what is wrong.

The last version of Office supported by Studio 2014 is MS Office 2013 so it can not open documents created with Office 365. As Studio 2014 reached its end of life in 2017 upgrades and new patches are no longer available for this version. The solution is to upgrade Studio to a version which is still supported, preferably Studio 2021.

I was able to work with Excel files until a few days ago and are still able to work with Word files now. That's strange, isn't it?

Yes, if this happens it is strange. Maybe you have some files that were created with an old version of Office that is compatible with Studio 2014.

I found a solution. I installed Office 2007 and now it works. Thanks for your thoughts. All the best.
