There is no error message. It just gets minimized and cannot be opened.

When you say it just gets minimized - do you mean you can see it's active in the taskbar?- But you cant open it full screen?

Perhaps you can show us what you can see with a screenshot

Maybe this is a case of the application opening off screen-
