Thanks Sorin, although license resetting was successful, I still cannot deactivate my license and keep receving the same error message: "Socket error 2". Also, the Word files I try to upload are saved in my computer and not on a shared drive, anyway, the error message says that the file is locked or open in another application.

Deactivating the license and reinstalling Studio 2014 won`t help with this kind of issue. Are you not able to open files at all or is this happening only for some specific files?

Instead of reinstalling Studio you can reset it to default settings which should fix the issue if any Studio settings got corrupted for some reason.

If you still have the error when trying to open the files please send a screenshot.

Thank you for your help Sorin! I resetted default settings, as you mentioned, and I think that it kind of worked it, at least with .docx (not with .doc files). But I'm ok with that.
