I am currently trying to install Studio 2021 on my new Ubuntu 20.04 machine and I am running in difficulties with installing the .NET Framework 4.8. Does anybody has tried this and are there others who succeeded and give me a hint in order to not to have to try out all possibilities?

You have to use a Virtual Machine then you can get it work. I was using it in the past few years ago (I think it was 2017 version) and it worked just fine.

.NET Framework as well as Trados Studio are Windows applications and will not run under Linux OS.
But you can use a virtualization software such as Virtualbox (virtualbox.org) to create a Windows virtual machine and run Studio inside this VM.
