I just purchased sdl studio 2021 sr1 for use on 2 computers simultaneously.
After downloading the exe file and opening it, the installation stops with error message 1603.
I have previously been using studio 2019 sr2, but according to the release notes for 2021 it is not necessary to uninstall 2019 before installing 2021.
Please advise.

You are right, you don't need to uninstall Studio 2019 in order to install 2021 as the two versions get installed in different folders.
The error 1603 is a know Windows problem. I suggest you read this article.
It may guide you to a possible cause.
I would also make sure that your installation file is OK and suggest you download the latest version (CU 5) from your RWS customer account.
