Help, can I speak to a human operator? upgrade from trados studio 2011

Hello,

I have Trados Studio 2011 on my PC and "urgently" need to upgrade it to 2014 and then 2019, which is possible because I have the licenses available on my account.

I do not know how to do it. I watched your videos/wizards, but I am afraid I might do something wrong and loose my licenses or compromise the use of the sotware.

Can you help me please? Is there anybody who can help me step by step and online?

A human helpdesk?

Thank you for your kind attention.

Best wishes,

Gabriella

  • Dear Steven,

thank you very much for your kind reply and attention.

May I ask you a few further questions?

I presume I have to upgrade to Trados 2014 and then to Trados 2019. I cannot upgrade directly from 2011 to 2019. Is this correct?

Is it advisable to upgrade Multiterm first and Trados after Multiterm?

Do I have to return my 2011 license before I can upgrade to 2014-2019? Do I have to do it at each step (from 2011 to 2014 and from 2014 to 2019)?

    Can’t I skip this step?

Under my 2911 freelance plus I find that my licence is inactive. I presume I cannot return it if this is inactive.

I have watched this video: https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0039975

And found some more useful info here:

    https://signsandsymptomsoftranslation.com/2013/10/03/upgrade/

They both maintain that I have to “Return your Studio 2011 license. Open Studio 2011 and go to Help>Product Activation>Deactivate”

Do I really need to do it?

It all seems a bit complex to me (sorry, my fault).

Can I upgrade from Trados Studio 2019 to 2021? Is there any restriction?

May I ask, what do you mean exactly by “I have edited (RWS Admin) your personal displayed details as we dont need these to help you”?

Thank you again for your kind reply.

    Best wishes,

    Gabriella
