Hello everyone, I bought this upgrade almost a year ago but installed it just recently. SDL Trados 2021 is asking me for an activation code, which I don't have. On My SDL Account page, when I click Upgrade licenses, get the following warning. I would like to keep using both 2019 and 2021, at least for a while, what should I do?

There`s an exception for Freelance licenses: If you do not deactivate your Studio 2019 license on your computer, you can continue to run Studio 2019 alongside Studio 2021 until you have to reactivate your license - for example because you change your computer. Until then, you can run both applications until you feel comfortable enough to move over to 2021 altogether. more details in this article: https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0039975
Even if the license gets deactivated for some reason you will still be able to use Studio 2019 and 2021 on the same computer as described in this article: https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0033843
However, when you will process the upgrade, the 2019 license will be removed from your RWS account and replaced with the 2021 license. This is the normal process.

thank you for your answer. I'm stuck here, I can't run 2021 because it's asking me for an activation code and I don't have it unless I process the upgrade. Are you sure that I'l be able to use both 2021 and 2019 simultaneously on the same computer, even if my 2019 license is deactivated on RWS? thanks

Yes, you can use both 2021 and 2019 simultaneously on the same computer if you don`t deactivate Studio 2019 before processing the upgrade. As I said in my previous reply this will be possible until you have to reactivate your license - for example because you change your computer or reinstall Windows.
Even so, you will be able to use both of them on the same computer but alternatively.
