My 2019 license is deactivated but the 2021 version is completely empty
This is simply because you haven't put any of your TMs or projects in there. If you were on 2019 they would have been in here somewhere... probably:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Studio 2019\
Studio 2021 looks in here:
c:\Users\[USERNAME]\Documents\Studio 2021\
So just open the projects you need, or add the TMs you need.

Thanks Paul, I just coppied them to the Studio 2021 folder.
Is it ok now to try deactivate the account and use it on a new computer or is there anything else I need to do first?

Sorry. I meant the license. I have a new computer.
Your licence has nothing to do with the files. You can deactivate/reactivate as much as you like and whenever you like.

Ok. I backed up all my files on an external hard drive, and the next step is deactivating the license on the old computer.
But when I go to Help -Product Activation, there is no license to deactivate, just option to activate or purchase Trados Studio 2021 trial
I'm not convinced you are in the right place. I have never seen a link to the 2021 trial in this window before:

When I try open the 2019 version, it does not open but says Active License: Evaluation Expired, and then there is a window Activate
In the 2021 version, I go to Help - Product Activation, and the only window that opens is the one offering the trial version. Maybe I need to do something else to activate the 2021 version?. I donwloaded it from my SDL account (it says there is one license available, 0 in use).
Please provide a screenshot. Too much guessing on my end.
