I am getting the following error message when trying to install 2015. Downloading and running vcredist_x86.exe from Microsoft site didn't help either.

Can you confirm that you are running Windows 10 please?
There are possible incompatible components in Windows 10 with legacy versions of Studio (which won't have been designed to run on W10).
You can try a manual installation by navigating to the following folder then try running the prerequisites manually.
C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\Dependencies
Then navigate to the following folder-
C:\ProgramData\Package Cache\SDL\SDLTradosStudio2015\modules and manually install (double click) the following 3 msi's
If this doesn't work, I would suggest considering upgrading to Studio 2021 as compatibility issues will continue to grow as W10 is updated.
