TRADOS refuses to start after installing latest patch

Hi Folks,

I installed the latest patch today (actually from today, in fact) and then found TRADOS would not start.

Instead, I got an error message with

"Could not load file or assembly 'SimpleInjector, Version"

I've now uninstalled and reinstalled an earlier patch that works (16.1.4.4184) but I thought I would post this in case anybody else has had problems.

I'm on holiday from Monday so might give the latest patch another try but can't right now since I have some projects to finish, for which I obviously need a working copy of TRADOS.

The version that caused this show-stopper was:

"Cumulative Update 7 for Trados Studio 2021 SR1 (Build 16.1.7.4397, released on 1 July 2021)"

Thanks,

Ed

  • Hi ,

Just as an update from me. I was mainly focused on actually starting Studio and have not handled a WorldServer package until today.

Although I have installed exactly the same versions as Patrizia notes above, I can open World Server packages, only if I select the package from within Trados. Trying to double-click in Windows Explorer produces this error:

    Unexpected argument: /openWSPackage

... plus a bunch more text.

If I go to the same directory from Trados, I also am not shown any packages in the directory, i.e. Trados does not "think" it supports the package type/file ending.

But it does indeed work, if you enter "*" to show all files and then click the package.

Perhaps I need a restart to get the file associations sorted out?

Anyway, it does work ... sort of! :=)

    Thx,

    Ed
