Activating a 2019 licence

Hi,

I've acquired a Trados 2021 licence and also have Trados 2019 licences, and am entitled to two activations, but I need to transfer a Studio 2019 licence from a PC that is no longer working reliably to a new PC (because I'm working on 2019 plug-ins). I've tried doing this in multiple ways but the 2019 licence no longer even seems to be active in my account, so it has proved impossible.

I've been running the 2019 on a trial licence, but that will soon run out. Please can I have some help.

Cheers,

Jon

  • Hello Daniel,

The upgrade process itself means exchanging the license for the legacy version (e.g. Studio 2019) with the license for the latest version (e.g. Studio 2021), so in the end, you will not have 2 licenses, just 1 license (the one for the latest version). If someone wants to keep the license for the legacy version, he/she can simply purchase a new license. That's why the upgrade has a lower cost than the new license, as you're losing the license for an older version and getting instead the license for the latest version. As explained above, the older version can still work on the same device with the new version, as it will detect the license from the new version (when the trial expires).

    Best regards,

    Adrian
