As you have both activations in use, you can follow the instructions below to reset the license on one device (Hint: you may remember the activation date for the device, so you can get an idea of which one to deactivate):

OK, I managed to get the computer working, and tried to deactivate as per instructions. After several attempts I got the message, deactivation failed...Reactivation is either complete or revocation proof is already uploaded. I thought this may mean that the deactivation is completed, but I still can't activate on the other computer. Is there a time delay?
