Upgrade Translation Memories not working after latest update

Hi everyone,

So after the latest update I cannot launch the "Upgrade Translation Memories" feature and, thus, I cannot convert tmx files into sdltm. I get the attached popup and nothing else happens.Error popup window titled 'Error' with a message indicating a failure to load 'SDL.Desktop.Platform.Implementation.Wizard.ProgressHeader' from assembly 'SDL.Desktop.Platform, Version=16.0.0.0'. Two buttons are visible: 'Knowledge Base' and 'OK'.

This is the SR1 version 16.1.8.4404. I am using Windows 10 Pro, with all the latest updates installed.

Please help!!!

Important note for App users (WorldServer Compatibility Pack and Trados Compatibility and Migration Power Pack

The WorldServer Compatibility Pack and the Trados Compatibility and Migration Power Pack have been updated to provide full compatibility with CU8 and CU7; they do not work with earlier CUs (CU6 and earlier). As a consequence, it is important that you use the integrated AppStore in Trados Studio to download these apps only once you have this CU installed (Trados Studio SR1 CU8).

Your best bet is to close Studio, delete these folders:

    c:\Users\[USERNME]\AppData\Roaming\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\

    c:\Users\[USERNAME]\AppData\Local\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\

    c:\ProgramData\SDL\SDL Trados Studio\16\Plugins\

Then restart Studio and download the all the plugins you want from the integrated AppStore to make sure yo get the correct versions.

The "upgrade" feature is part of the "Trados Compatibility and Migration Power Pack" as it was removed with the initial release of 2021 t cut down the installation file size and also remove legacy components.  The alternative to an upgrade is of course to create an empty TM and then import your TMX into it.  But the Upgrade feature is very neat!

    Hope that helps?
