After properly downloading and installing TermExtract 2021, it won't launch. (I use SDL-Trados Studio 2021 Freelance Plus)
A small window simply displays " Initializing Error 101".
After researching the problem, I made sure I have the latest Java build (8.0.3010.9) and that MSVCR71.DLL is present in C:\Program Files (x86)\SDL\SDL MultiTerm\MultiTerm16.
I can't find anything else that keeps TermExtract from launching.
What is the problem?

This KB is part of the results my research led to. I went through all options, checked everything, but TermExtract still won't launch.
By the way, this KB is 2.5 years old already. The problem with TermExtract 2021 may be something else, but I can't seem to find any clue about it.

I doubt it. We stopped developing this application and it was upgraded to 2021 with pretty much only branding changed. It's now available for free and we don't support it either. I guess you read this on the appstore page?
The application is not supported by SDL other than to provide advice on how to work with it. This should be addressed via the SDL Community forums. It is no longer being developed.
The only thing I can suggest here is to be very diligent checking all the solutions in the KB, just in case you didn't do something.
