I recently bought a 2021 freelance version of Trados and I’m experiencing problems in using Trados Live Essential: if I access Trados Live with my account, there is no project inside, it is totally empty of resources, even if in the Studio version it is full of stuff.
I bought the product first of all to use this function, so my question is: should the product be activated in some way or how can I solve the problem?

As it sound like you can access Trados LIve without any problems, then i think this must be a basic issue of understanding how this works.
When you create a new project in Trados Studio, you have the option of a New Local Project or New Cloud Project
If you wish to work in the cloud, you need to select the Cloud Project Option- this then shows in the Studio UI as a 'cloud' rather than file icon.
There are some useful Wikis to help you get started working in the cloud to be found here-
