Hello,

Windows 8 is not a supported operating system.

The user needs to upgrade to the latest version of Windows 8.1 to be able to install\ run Studio 2021.

Windows 8 is not supported for either the 2019 or 2021 version of the software.

I know Win8 is not mentioned, but is it possible to install on Win7 (despite there is no longer any support)?

This is a Microsoft limitation but is made slightly more confusing due to the way microsoft reports compatible operating systems.
.net 4.8 is compatible with the latest releases of windows 7,8 10 and 11.

Windows 7 and 8 need to have the latest service pack e.g. 7 SP1 and 8.1.

The only way to get it to install is to update to windows 8.1
