If you`re trying to activate a single-user license this is not possible on remote desktop servers.

If you have a Network license then you need to activate it in License Manager (not directly in Passolo) as described in this article: https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0039977

License Manager installer: https://downloadcentercdn.sdl.com/TP/Trados/T2021/Licensing/LicenseServerManager16.2.496.zip

After the license is activated in License Manager you can connect Passolo by clicking on Activate > Alternative activation options > Use a license server > type "internal.licensing.sdl.com" > click "Connect".

Thank you for your reply. I have an SDL Passolo 2018 Team Unlimited Edition (Network SN) license. Can you tell me, where to find the activation code? Sorry, it's the first time I'm doing this myself.

The activation code is the license itself from your RWS account > Products & Plans > Licenses.

Is this error occurring when installing License Manager or when activating the license?

I had another License Manager that I downloaded from the relevant section of my RWS profile. I have downloaded the one from your link and when I wanted to install it, I saw that it's called Trados License Server Manager. Does that work for Passolo?

The error is occurring when activating the license.

You need to uninstall the version you had and install the one I recommended  - it works for all versions of Studio and Passolo.

I have installed the license manager you recommended. However, when I now enter the activation code I get the error "Unable to connect to the remote server". (Internet connection is working).

Is there anything else I have to do?
