Same user, same licence, same project, two computers

Is there any possibility for the same user/license to open and work indistinctly on one same project  from two different computers without having to export/import them all the time? Is there any cloud-based place/server where to keep users´ ongoing projects or should I use a pendrive everytime?

Thanks for your help!

  • Hi Raquel,

Just make sure you update to OneDrive fully on the computer you're working on before turning it off and only then turning on the second computer and allowing it to update from OneDrive completely before you start work on it.

In theory, OneDrive updates each local file on the computer with the more recent version of that file that it finds on OneDrive. It does this by comparing the date and time of the two versions of a file.

Do bear in mind that it is always possible that work will be lost if for some reason the version you last worked on gets overwritten because the older file somehow gets attributed with a more recent date and time by an event such as an automatic upgrade. It is also possible that one forgets to update a file to OneDrive, as I did recently but fortunately OneDrive flagged it up and allowed me to rename the local version so I could compare the two. I lost work on one occasion without a warning, possibly because I hadn't learned how the processes worked yet.

Some expert users don't trust OneDrive because of this.

    All the best,

    Ali Smiley
