Cannot start MultiTerm anymore

I recently performed an in-place repair of Windows 11 Pro, build 22000.795. Everything seems to work fine except for MultiTerm 2021. It opens with an error message and will not allow me to do anything.

Error dialog box titled 'Fehler' with a message about a COM class factory component not being able to be fetched due to error 8007007e, indicating the module was not found.

Studio 2021 runs fine.  I tried first to repair Multiterm and I 've just re-installed MultiTerm for the 3rd time, but all that doesn't help. Can someone help me on this?

My hunch that the issue was related to the Visual C++ redistributables was correct. Upon examination, I saw that the version for C++ 2005 was missing. Honestly, I'm not sure if it is really needed for MultiTerm 2021. In addition, the two 2022 versions were apparently defective, i.e. I couldn't update or uninstall them. I finally did manage to remove them, using my trusty Revo Uninstaller program, Afterwards, I downloaded the file Visual-C-Runtimes-All-in-One-Jul-2022.zip that I found online. This ZIP file contains all Visual C++ redistributables and a BAT file to install them all in one go. For good measure, I ran VC_redist.x64.exe to ensure I have the latest versions of the redistributables.

Whew! I spent hours fiddling with this problem, but it ultimately worked.
