I just opened Trados Studio 2022 to work on some rather urgent projects. To my great consternation, I discovered that no text is visible any more in the source or target columns in any of my projects. I can see that the text must be there, from the size segments, it is just invisible. I have tried repairing Trados, restarted Windows, etc but to no avail. Can anyone please help, or I am likely to miss my deadlines tomorrow?

I am positive that this will not help because I tried to achieve white text colour on a white background colour, but even with that setting, the text is displayed as grey on white... but does it make any difference if you click 'Reset to Defaults' on this screen reached via File>Options>Colors:
If that doesn't work, I think someone from support should take a look at your setup remotely... Paul yes?

PS: if the Font adaptation contrast is turned right down where indicated by Walter Blaser PLUS the above text and background colours are set to white, even then the text is still visible:
Every colour setting would have to be white or 255,255,255 in order for the text to be completely invisible.
What happens if you highlight the content of the Editor window? Can you send us a screenshot, please Johanna?

Thank you so much for all your ideas! I think I've tried them all now. I'm attaching a screen shot (I just had to figure out how to black out the client details, so as not to breach confidentiality). Hope this helps!
Please go to File -> Options -> Editor (shown by Walter Blaser above) and change the view to "Show all tags but do not show formatting".
You are working with Mac? Maybe a refresh of the Windows VM will help?

This didn't work either. I reinstalled Parallels earlier today to see if that was the culprit, but it made no difference. When you ask me to refresh the VM, do you mean reset Windows? (I have restarted it a few times already today, just in case).

I just opened Studio 2021, which works just fine, with both source and target column displaying properly, so I can hopefully transfer my projects and work in 2021 instead until we figure out this issue.
What colour is the text in the original source document?
Is it perhaps a PDF that has been converted to Word by Studio?
If so, can you open the .docx file in your Source language folder and change the text colour?
Just clutching at straws here...

Yes, I meant resetting Windows. But if you'll already done that... Do you have any other version of Studio installed? Does the same appear there? Does this problem affect all your projects or only this particular one? Is your graphics driver in Window up to date? Is there any Windows update not applied?

If you can work in Studio 2021, use the command "Open project" from the ribbon in Projects view to open any project you need to work on for now. There is no need to do anything more. Opening the projects in Studio 2021 will simply allow you to continue working where you stopped.

My projects opened nicely in Studio 2021, so I can keep working in 2021 instead until we figure this one out. Thank you all for your help, it is truly appreciated.
(I had some other issues as well in Studio 2022 CU1, related to GroupShare, so I may just roll back to Studio 2022 without CU1 - but that will have to wait until I have delivered these urgent projects).
If you had a problem in Studio 2022 CU1 related to GroupShare, please install CU2, it is an emergency patch to solve a problem with GS projects.

Given that Johanna can see the text in 2021 but not in 2022, my guess is that this could be related to the new rendering engine in the Editor, which may not be properly supported in a VM on Mac. Or needs some adjusting of the graphics configuration. Just a wild guess!

Would it be possible to have a copy of your source file? Maybe you can copy it, delete all the content apart from a couple of lines and then edit the text. If you can still reproduce the problem with that then it would be helpful for us to review.

I quickly installed Studio 2022 in a Parallels VM on Mac and can report that there is no general issue with font rendering there.
So, Johanna's problem must be document or environment specific.
Just to clarify: This issue affects every single project, so it doesn't seem related to a specific file. I occurred for the first time this morning - yesterday, it was all as usual, and all the text was visible in the segments. But, as I mentioned, I will work in Studio 2021 tomorrow, and then take another look at this during the weekend.

To my knowledge, nothing... which is so weird. I installed CU1 the day before, and it ran OK (except for GroupShare).
By the way, it was mentioned that there was a new rendering engine in Studio 2022. Did this change in CU1? As I had no issues running Studio 2022 before CU1...
