You need to download and install Studio 2022 from your RWS account > Products & Plans > Downloads or from the following link: https://downloadcentercdn.sdl.com/TP/Trados/T2022/Studio/CUs/CU4/TradosStudio2022_CU4_13209.zip

After you install Studio you can activate the license following the steps from this article: https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0039555

You can export  / import your settings from 2019 into 2022 as described in this article: https://gateway.rws.com/csm?id=kb_article_view&sysparm_article=KB0029253

However, if it`s not to much trouble it is recommended to set them up from scratch in the new version.

Thanks a lot for your guidelines, which I have followed until the license activation step (ie download and installation steps successful).

Now on my RWS account, the "In use" box shows zero (0) (just beneath the license number).

Is this because the activation is impossible to be done online?

What should I do, then?

The license need to be activated in the actual software (Studio 2022), not online from your account. You just need to open the newly installed Studio 2022, copy / pates the activation code in the Activation code field and click Activate.
