An installation ID is necessary oly if you perform an offline activation and it`s generated automatically as described in this article (when you copy / paste the activation code in the Activation window) :https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000001383

I don't get an activation code and cannot generate an installation ID. Please help.

You can find the activation code in your RWS account (oos.sdl.com). From there simply follow the steps from the article I sent.
