After resetting the computer Trados Studio appeared in Control Panel.

The staff on chat support adviced me to post this on Community page and signal the issue. She said: "Like that it will be immediately visible as well for my colleague from tech as well and they will be able to take it into consideration for improvement."
I certainly hope for a new release because this one (17.0.6.14092) is obviously causing problems.

Thanks for reporting this.  It's not actually an issue we are seeing from other users.  Can you tell us anything about where you store your translation memories?  Can you tell us if you share your translation memories with others?

I don't know what a solution would be, but perhaps if we learn a little more about your particular situation it might help us reproduce the problem or even identify where the problem might e coming from.

In fact, nothing has changed regarding my TMs, in both cases, i.e. with 17.0.5.14757 and 17.0.6.14092 my memories are the same and they are located in the same places: file-based memories on my disk c:\programs\Trados Studio\memory\ and server-based memories on my client's server. Everything went crazy after upgrading to the '6th' version and everything normalised back again when downgrading/reverted to the previous '5th' version.

But I am happy that you have started investigating this issue and that you are paying attention to this problem.

Thank you for sharing those links.  I just spoke to one of the support team who verified the solution to the second one you shared as this had a month old support case raised for it:

"The issue has been resolved after removing the previous installation and re-installing Trados Studio" .

As far as he remembered this was a Studio installation issue.  He reset the installation folders, Studio was still crashing, so he uninstalled and reinstalled it.  That solved the issue.

I also raised a case just now for the other one you shared and we can check that one too.  But this does seem to be more of an installation problem than a general bug in the software.  I have not raised a case for you as you went back to CU5, but if you do try it again before the next update, and if you do have a similar problem then please come back and report this and we can log a case for you too.

hi, actually, i thought initially the issue was fixed after removing the previous installation and re-installing Trados Studio but it rapidly reappeared, so i reverted to the previous version which works correctly
