Trados 2017 won't start after update

Hello,

Trados was working fine, and then I noticed a message saying that I should download and install an update. Thinking that there must be *some* advantage in doing so, I went proceeded with the update.

Now I can't open Trados. It says it's opening, but nothing happens, even the icon appears in my taskbar and Task Manager claims it's running.

I found this article:  Trados Studio 2021 wont open after last update to 16.1.8.4404  that recommends repairing Trados. I tried that, and it doesn't work.

Do I need to uninstall and reinstall?

If so, do I need to first deactivate my license? And I f do, in Account, Licenses? (I took a quick look at my account information, and I no longer see a "return license" option.)

I would greatly appreciate any help, as I have a long job.
