Deactivating/activating Trados Studio 2017

In the past, I could deactivate/activate my Trados Studio 2017 freelance single user license 1) with the "Deactivate"/"Activate" button, and then 2) when the button function was no longer supported by RWS "because it's an old product" (quote), by generating a deactivation certificate. Now, neither of these work and I urgently need to deactivate it on my one PC in order to use it on my other PC in a different country. I get the error message "An email has been sent to support to inform them of the error". That was on May 1 and also when I tried again yesterday, but "support" has so far done nothing about it. RWS is not prepared to help me directly because I do not have a support contract. In the past, it was always possible to get help with licensing issues WITHOUT a support contract because without the license you cannot use the software! Even if the software is not the latest version, my license has not expired and I expect to be able to use it as normal. Does the community have any idea what I can do? Thank you!
