I was hoping that someone could help me here... Nothing is working, even Multiterm. This is a task for one of my best clients and in addition to the translation project I had to create a termbase/glossary as per the client's request. Now, what I have is the software crashing all the time, duplicated entries in the termbase, throwing me message errors of all kind. I really don't know what will happen if I don't deliver a proper task to the client. 

I was also willing to upgrade to Trados Studio 2022, but now I honestly have my doubts.

If you have multiple error messages I recommend to reset the Studio settings as described in this article: https://gateway.sdl.com/apex/communityknowledge?articleName=000001417

Also, please make sure that your files (projects, TMs, termbases, etc) are saved locally on your PC and not on a shared drive.

If you still have error messages please send a screenshot.

I also have Trados Studio 2019 running alongside 2021. Is it a problem to have both running alongside? Do I need to follow the same instructions above for 2019?

Multiterm seems to not work either. I added a termbase to a project and 'View term details' option is deactivated/greyed out.

I'm sorry, but I had to finish the translation project and deliver it on time.

It seems that now everything is working Trados and Multiterm. I will keep you posted if something else arises. However, I wouldn't like to have the same problems in the future. I'm not sure if upgrading to Trados Studio 2022 would be a better solution to get rid of these errors.

(Yesterday, when creating a glossary with Word, there were terms duplicated... I was living a nightmare!)

I have this same issue with Trados 2022: yesterday it crashed three times without any warning and therefore I cannot make a screenshot, there were no error messages, just the crash. This has been happening for some time now and it seems to happen more frequently lately.

If all else has failed, try the following:

I have found that turning off any 'extra' functionality that I don't use prevents crashes and also speeds Studio up, whatever the version.

For example, when I'm don't need Fragment Matching/Match Repair, I turn it off...

So, here in the Project settings, I do the following:

Or... if you don't work with projects, i.e. 'Translate Single File', turn off the same settings under File>Options

(Individual project settings always overrule the same settings made under File>Options)

I also close the Fragment Matches window in the Editor View if I'm not using it. Most of my work as a proofreader is done in Review mode so I don't often need Fragment matches...

Alternatively, or as well, try turning off LookAhead via File>Options, here:

It makes sense to turn off any functionality you don't need/use because it makes software more streamlined, efficient and stable. It works for me, every time!

If the above doesn't help, it could be that the instability is caused by Studio not being installed in your current environment to the optimum, in which case, take a look at the options here:

I will try all of the above (where possible, I do rely on fragment matches) but obviously, it is difficult to say when the problem has disappeared (after a month without crashes?)
